Lamentation In His Midst
All lyrics were spontaneously freestyled in prayer for either the benediction at FreeChurch Toronto, or invocation before class at Heritage College & Seminary.
So Lord God, here we sit, in our suffering,
and I pray that your Son be our buffering,
because there's no rougher thing
than to feel that we are alone,
where our bones are prone to be exposed,
that those who oppose be lost,
and him who rose from the dead,
let him feel our head,
let dread fall upon those who would hurt,
Lord God, let us just blurt out your words,
let us remember that though life seems absurd,
you have observed all of it,
and your eyes also cry with us,
you see our fears, and are filled also with tears,
but your Son, he appears in our midst,
so Lord God, here we sit,
your son, he appears in our midst,
Let us all just give our hearts over to him,
when the lights seem dim,
Let us remember he is the Sun,
Let us all just give, let us all give,
when the lights seem dim.
Let us remember he is the Sun, he is the Son.
When the lights seem dim, let us remember he is the Son.
He is the one who will display through his rays
all the ways we can obey,
let us all say, Christ, you are victorious, and glorious.
So Lord God, here we sit, your son, he appears in our midst.
