Music
Two projects, one voice — the same conviction that shows up in the pulpit and the classroom, carried into rap.

"Without You" — Jon Corbin w/ Eternia, Ill Seer and Relic
Ill Seer
Cyril's rap alias since 1995 — sparked by discovering Public Enemy on MuchMusic's Rapcity growing up in Sarnia, Ontario, and fronting a teenage alt-funk-punk-hiphop outfit called The Chevrons. While pursuing his MPhil at Cambridge, he co-founded the ten-man, five-country crew Delegates of Culture, releasing the Headcleaners and Resented EP vinyl records and drawing UK press from Muzik Magazine and HipHop Connection, before returning to Toronto to cut his teeth in the local scene alongside Jon Corbin, Eternia, Mindbender, Relic, and Shad — one of Canada's biggest rappers and host of Netflix's Hip-Hop Evolution. "Good Friday (Seven Last Words)," a feature with Drew Brown / Hymns for the Architect, won Rap Song of the Year at the 2019 GMA Canada Covenant Awards. Where Prophetic Poetic leans liturgical, this is the rawer, freestyle-and-cypher side of the same voice.
Prophetic Poetic
Launched in 2002, Prophetic Poetic is where the theology and the verse fully meet — hip-hop as a way of performing Scripture's own poetry. HOLY WEEK (2017) walks the Church calendar day by day, from Maundy Thursday through Easter Monday, produced by DJ Moves, Bee109, and Dorc. Habakkuk (2020) puts the prophet's own Hebrew complaint-and-answer into verse, produced by Theory Hazit. Both EPs were built inside a wider circle of collaborators that includes Delegates of Culture, Jon Corbin, and engineer Andrew Haughton.
