Jesus Psalms

6 sermons by Rev. Dr. Cyril Guerette in the series Jesus Psalms, preached 2021, with audio and a quote from each.

We move from a teaching series on prayer into a time of reflection on the powerful ancient Jewish prayers we call the Psalms. The season of Lent is a time when Christians begin the journey towards Easter through prayer, scriptural mediation, fasting, and other disciplines, echoing the journey of Jesus towards the cross as well as the 40 days he spent in the desert. We identify with the life and suffering of Christ as we journey to the glory of the resurrection. The prayerbook called the Psalter is a beautiful guide on our spiritual adventure. Written hundreds of years before Jesus, these prayers predicted his life and ministry with incredible accuracy. Each week we will open a new psalm and see how it points to Jesus, his sacrifice, and the incredible hope we now have in him as the fulfillment of these ancient prophetic poetic songs and prayers.
