P(s)alm Sunday: Victorious Priest & King - Psalm 110

“Satan will not win. He was already defeated on the cross. He was defeated at the resurrection. … He knows his place here, and yes, he's scrambling and trying to fight and he's trying to take you down. But the truth is that he knows he's defeated. That God wins. Love wins. Jesus wins. The triumphal entry that we see on and celebrate on Palm Sunday, we will see the triumphal entry when Jesus returns in the sky with the angels at his side. … And the people who follow him must have been so excited to feel it. Now, I want to point out again, this is not a violent triumphalism. In fact, it's the opposite. Jesus purposely comes in on a little donkey, the fall of a donkey, the baby donkey. He doesn't come in like an emperor, but he comes in as the king of the Jews because people are recognizing him, but he doesn't come in like a war king. Right? He is the Prince of Peace.”
