Facing Temptation

By the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

“It's basically saying to God — I need you more than this. God, I need you more than sugar. I need you more than chips. I need you more than meat. I need you more than Facebook. This is what we're saying if you practise this, right? … And this is exactly what Jesus teaches us. He's giving up this — and he's in this moment of weakness — and this hunger is coming to him. And then it says that the enemy comes to him — the adversary. And I just want to point out that I believe this enemy is a real being. … However, there are spiritual forces at work — that he's like the Godfather. … The good news is Christ himself is strong.”
