All Authority
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
“Now again, we don't have faith in ourselves and the things that we want to be done. It's not like, Oh, I have faith that this will be done because I want it to. No, I have faith that Christ can do this. I trust that he can do that, and I need to recognize the power of faith. It's a difference between righteousness and sin. It's a difference between things getting done and nothing ever happening. It's time for the church to claim the authority of Jesus again in his name. It's time for the church to look for the authority of Christ to be working out for us. Where we can ask for peace and see it happen. Where there's content where all those people will never, ever connect again. They'll pray, empower, and think that Jesus can do it. Now again, He'll do it if He wants to do it. If He doesn't want to remove the messenger of Satan, then our prayers aren't going to force it to. But, if we don't pray to remove the messenger of Satan when He wants it to, then it won't go. That's the reality here. We need to be praying prayers of faith, prayers of authority, prayers of trust that Jesus can make these things happen. So we need to repent of this. We can be agents of love and power if we actually believe that he can do this. Where we expect that, you know, I can pray for someone and they will come to know the love of Jesus rather than, oh no, that'll never happen. So no, are you praying truly that they come to know Jesus? Because Because they can. We need to live in that power. We need to not live in fear. We need to not have a spirit of fear.”Browse the full sermon archive →
