Chapel Address (Psalm 139)

“Ask for God to help defeat this enemy. Ask him to help protect you. How many enemies have come against God's people throughout time? Sickness, war, famine, torture, strife. God has brought his people through so many enemies. This will not be different, and when we talk about this being a new normal, and I understand what we're saying, we're saying we're not going to get used to this for a little bit, but I also hear in this phrase a little bit of resignation, almost like a giving up of hope. Do we believe that God can defeat this? Do we believe that we will never be able to give each other a holy kiss or maybe a holy hug or a holy handshake again? I say history seems to disagree. We've always come through these times. God always brought his people through these times.”
