The Spirituality of Everything

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
— Genesis 1:1–2
“He built us a garden to live in; he walked with us; he walks with us through each stage of our human existence. Spirit of God is everywhere. He's in everything. Take a look around you. It's spiritual. The Spirit is pulsating. It comes from the Spirit of God, who hovered over the waters. And I want you to look at the chaos of your life. You could look at it like Tiamat. The deep, the dark monster of chaos trying to eat my soul: my work schedule, my school schedule, my crazy relationships. All this looks like it's a monster. … Start working, moulding it, shaping it. It's all part of the material which he can help change and rearrange. It's either a monster to flee from, or something you can enter in with the confidence of God, and recognize he's ready to start doing creative spirituality — work through you to help change. The Spirit of God is with you. … If you are a follower of Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit of God within you — the same Spirit that hovered over the waters. I don't believe God stopped creation after seven days. It says he stopped after the sixth day and took a day of rest. … Otherwise you take an eternity of rest.”
