Philippians 3-12-14

“You have to press on. Press on until termination. Nothing's going to stop the march of progress in a true Christian. You see the net in the distance. We start running down the field. We're not going to stop until the ball is in between the posts. We know the prize, The prize is Jesus. It's resurrection. It's eternal life. It's perfection. That's the prize, and we know that none will get the prize except for those who chase after it. And we know that it is us who must chase after it. Why? Because we feel God heavy on us, don't we? Do you feel it? I always feel it. God is heavy on my conscience. Do you not want God more than anything else? Be honest. You're deep moments. You know that that's what you desire. I think that's why we constantly keep looking at the ways we screwed up all the time. Wondering why we screwed up and looking at that. Because we want to be holy, and that's a good motivation. We're just going about it the wrong way. You don't become holy by looking at your unholiness, become holy by looking at the holy one. God has called you friends. Listen to God's voice. Head in that direction. You see there's a really heavy emphasis on the sovereignty of God in this passage. Paul told us a little bit earlier, Christ has taken hold of me. This is idea of God grabbing him. Now he tells me God has called us or God has called me. You see it starts with and it ends with God. We're running towards God's voice.”
