The Wisdom of God - 1 Corinthians 1:17-25

“See, God begins to reveal himself in all of his wisdom in Christ. The mind behind all of creation begins to interact with the human mind in ways which we can ever dream of in Christ. But only is Jesus the wisdom of God. It says that he is directly the power of God, which is what the Jewish people were looking for, It's the answer to the Jewish demand for power. Jesus Christ death unleashed a power on earth that has been transforming history for thousands of years. He has breathed on the earth. He has blessed it with a transforming spirit, a spirit of rebirth, a spirit of recreation. See, Paul has been through many problems in his life as a Christian. He's felt a lot of problems. He knows when he's receiving power. He attests time and time again that the power of God intervenes in his life. Paul pins all his hope, all his faith and love on the fact that believing in Jesus Christ brings us into contact with God in a way that nothing else could. He saw the Gospel of Christ crucified, changing the lives of people all over the Roman Empire. He saw that in preaching Jesus there was a power which was unmatched. He saw that God was changing the world through one man, Jesus Christ. He knew that it was unleashing an army controlled by the Holy Spirit to bring God's loving will to society, and we do it in the name of Christ, however foolish we might appear. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom. The weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. God's superior wisdom isn't just a matter of degree.”
