Day of Rest
Ill Seer's verse on Jon Corbin's “Day of Rest” (The Saturday Sonrise EP, 2013), with DJ Sean P. Appears on: Jon Corbin.
Waking up, shaken up.
Something hits my head like lead.
My boy said, "Daddy, pants, get out of bed."
Can't, feeling dead.
More patchy than your cabbage.
Then it catches me, aw yeah,
it's my Sabbath, silly rabbit.
My kids ain't latchkey.
Brekkie, I'ma grab it.
They spatula smash me,
then back to batman's lab, its
a lazy day, joking, God's ways and praise.
Soaking in Creation's sun rays;
listen to The Runaway.
In a position to obey
the Fourth Commandment,
and it, of course, conveys life,
to me and my wife.
Astonished by my Day of Rest,
honestly can say I'm blessed.
Words by Cyril Guerette (Ill Seer). Produced by DJ Sean P.
