Ministers of Reconciliation
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the old is gone, the new is here.
“This is the Christian hope. This changes everything, and it means that when you come to Jesus, you are actually literally a new creation. Something happens on the spiritual plane which transforms who you are and you are actually a new seed, a new spark. God has part of you. He is a part of you. He's in you. with you. He walks with you. He lives and breathes when you're living and breathing. The Holy Pneuma is inside you, and God asks you part of His plan for how the Kingdom of God expands. He continues on in verse 18. All of this is from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And as He committed us this message of reconciliation, we are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God we're making His appeal through us. God is reconciling the entire world to Himself. All this mess I spoke of that we're seeing, the mess of wars and poverty, God is in the process of reconciling this evil mess back to Him. This is the major reconciliation. This is the real work of Reconciliation. It is the entire world coming back to God. Our evil thoughts and our evil deeds, our sins. Like, they're not, they're not held against us. Did you notice what he said there? He's reconciling us, not only on this grand scale, individually. You and I are brought back to him and he looks upon us and he doesn't look at us and see the mess that we are. He doesn't see the sins. He sees that we are forgiven in Christ, that we're a new creation. He looks at us with a smile. What a beautiful thing. Every follower of Jesus is a minister of reconciliation and he is given, he's committed to us the message of reconciliation.”Browse the full sermon archive →
