Artisans Since the Garden

“The world is a creation, a gift of God, and a Holy Spirit–filled designer is led to use what was given to worship God. When we look at work as a form of design, we realize that anything we do is using the Spirit-made material world to create. So do you have skills from the Spirit of God? Do you have skills that the Spirit of God wants to put his hands upon and use to worship him? Even mundane things like carpentry and stonework are part of the Holy Spirit's repertoire. So you realize that when you tap into your work, if you let the Holy Spirit tap into the work with you, he's hovering with you over your work, just like the Spirit of God hovered over the waters at the beginning of creation? We see it when we look at the name Bezalel. It actually means "in the shadow of God." And I think of the shadow of the Spirit of God hovering over the waters at the beginning. We have the shadow of the Spirit just hovering over this man. The Spirit of God is hovering over this man, and the Spirit's shadow is upon every single hammer tap and forge heat-up.”
