Spiritual Gifts I - Motivational Gifts Ephesians 4:7-13

“He's given to each of us gifts, his people, he's given gifts. It's actually the picture of a general or an emperor after having a victory in the military, coming back into the city and lavishing gifts to the people as he's coming in. This is a picture of Christ and you see this, he's giving his gifts to his people and his victory, and then it's really interesting, the gifts that are given, they're not what you expect or they're not exactly what we've been seeing so far. They're a little different. The gifts, it says, are this. So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and the teachers to equip his people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of God. The gifts are people. He gave people to the church as a gift. He gave them apostles and prophets and evangelists and pastors and teachers.”
