John 1:6-34 Incarnation

“God infleshed himself. He covered himself in skin. He went undercover as a human, and it was glorious. We hear John the Baptist saying that this infleshed Logos, this Jesus Christ, surpasses him. Why? Because he was before me, and we think about that. It's very interesting because John the Baptist was born before Jesus. So you can't be talking about his flesh and blood. When he's saying he's before me, he's saying he's the Word. He's the one who existed eternally. … Here he's going all out with this difference between revelation and incarnation. The idea of letting the light be known to God. This is what Moses did. Moses gave revelation. He said, here's what God is saying. … And now he's come into the world and he's had this relationship with the Father, and it says that as we relate to him, we start to connect to God in a brand new way. This isn't just pure, here's some truths about God. This is here, come connect to God. Come to Jesus and get into this relationship, this personal experience of God himself.”
