Kevin & Cyril Tagteam - Exodus 3 and 12
“Sin that causes us to miss God's ideal for our life. Or sin that causes us to miss God's ideal for the whole world. Sin that can rule over us like a master. Sin that refuses to let us leave Egypt behind. That says, listen, you're a slave that's just the way the world works. There's nothing more to life than this. But everything in your being, in your fabric of who you are, deep in your bones tells you that you were made for something more than this. That there's something more God wants to do, and what about this one? You don't think you're a slave? dare to take this test. I don't dare to take it. But we break our own morals. Isn't this weird? We're I believe in this, and then we do something the exact opposite. Well, I believe that we should all be really nice, and then you go and yell at somebody and kick them in the crotch. Like, that's what we do. We just, we break our own morals. Isn't there something wrong with that? I believe this, but I won't do it. Doesn't that show you that there's actually something beyond you that you're a slave to? Something you can't break? So we gossip and we lie and we lust and we envy and we hate and we destroy, and we enslave ourselves to our harsh master of sin every day. Now, I want to point something out. For some of us, slavery to sin has been and is being broken, isn't it? For those who come into connection with the resurrected Jesus Christ, slavery to sin is something of the past.”Browse the full sermon archive →
