Judges 3 7-11

“We can look back and we see where God has brought us. God has brought us heroes in our own life. Look at the people in your life that you would say, there is a hero that God has brought to show me the path. People that point us in the path of God, and then we start to look at the future. We start to see, what? I can be. We can be one of those heroes to someone else. See it's by paying attention to the one supreme story of God, the story of redemption that's worked out by the final judge of Israel. His name is Jesus Christ. By him, we are adopted into the family of God. Just like Othmeal's grandfather had not been a member or a citizen of Israel, but now Caleb and his entire family are part of the tribe of Judah. We were once not part of the people of God, and now we have officially become judges in Jesus Christ. We are working out the salvation of Jesus Christ in the here and in the now, here and now, God is breaking the sin cycle of our lives. Believe it. We can turn to God no matter what sin we have been enslaved to. We can be confident that our sin of idolatry, of not giving time to God in prayer, or whatever sin might have been, maybe it's some deeper, more regular habit of sin that's holding us down, that can be overcome in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. That was past. The cycle is being broken. The Holy Spirit has spoken. No more joking and choking in sin.”
