Nehemiah 1-7

“Furthermore, the single greatest weapon the arsenal of any individual child of God is prayer. That's just given. You want to see change in your life pray. Nehemiah did nothing without prayer. … He would even pray to God in the middle of the conversation with the King. … How many of you have ever stopped the little conversation and prayed and then came back to the conversation? You'd probably really freak some people out. I'm not saying that you have to do that. But it just shows you how much prayer permeated his very thought life. He didn't second-guess it. We must never forget prayer is our only true strength, and finally, returning to the community, I want us to realize that God wishes to move through entire communities. He doesn't just call leaders. … He doesn't just call leaders. He calls each of us. The wall would never have been rebuilt if it wasn't for the average citizen of Israel. Nehemiah is an important piece. He's the visionary. But each person needed to be putting bricks on that wall where it would never have been built. Likewise, we as a church claim to be the people of God. We are part of the body of Christ on earth and we need to work together collectively if we want to get this done. Do not think that you are indispensable to the kingdom of God. No one's indispensable. But we are all useful if we fall into God's hands and allow them to use us. Realize that you are one part of a huge plan which God has been strategizing since the fall of humanity.”
