1 Samuel - Jonathan

“It is Jonathan who trusts in God and trusts the God who gives him his enemies though they are superior. … It's an awesome line, and then it's followed up by him saying, the Lord has given them into the hand of Israel. Confidence. … His son takes matters into his own hands and attacks them with only a single sidekick. Now the die is cast. There is no turning back. But also we see who the God of the universe has cast his lot with. We see at least one leader who's willing to trust the true King of Israel who was God, who saves them time and time again, and so we had Jonathan, a brave man, a willing son of God, an amazing warrior. He's not afraid to put his own life on the line for his people, and this leads to a second characteristic of Jonathan. He is a compassionate leader of his people.”
