Does Heaven Erase Memory?

Imagine someone argued that heaven simply redeems our memory — meaning we won't remember our suffering, which is partly how they'd solve the problem of grieving over someone who ended up separated from God forever. Here's a response worth sitting with.

“What about the marks on Jesus's own hands? How do those get there if memory is simply erased? Isn't that itself the mark of our sin, carried forward? So I think he's anthropomorphizing memory in a certain way — not that God will hold your sin against you literally, more that he won't hold it as a grudge.”
