How the Psalter Alters Culture — David's Cultural Revolution (Trulls Road Church)

“It's important for you to grab the Psalms and to use them to help you pray. They can help you through your dark times. I say things to God through the Psalms that I'm afraid to say to him with my own mouth. … We're meant to pray the Psalms to him, to give them all our hearts, content, ask for forgiveness, celebrate all these things. The Psalter needs to be part of your spiritual life, and then ask yourself, how do I use my cultural skills to worship God? Everything can point back to God. He made everything, You have a chance to point to what you do. The scientists. Maybe you can help people see God by pointing to how complicated the human eyeball is, the majesty of the designer. … Whatever it is that you have. If you're an accountant, use your creativity for God. Don't be too creative with the books. But what I'm saying? Worship God with your skills. Point to God.”
