I Am Forgiven
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
“And so what we hear here is that, in order to experience the power of forgiveness in our life, I need to confess, like I said. That's why we're doing it. That's why it's part of who we are. And we need to let go. And so it's important — that we'll get a little bit to this later — it's important that you practise confession of your sin. … I would even argue daily is the best. … Get that off your heart. Get that off your conscience. And look what he will do. He will purify us from all unrighteousness. This is important — because a lot of people — they feel so beholden to patterns of sin that they're, like — I'll never be able to get rid of this. This will always be who I am. First of all — it's not who you are. Second of all — you will be purified. You have hope. He will deliver you from this.”Browse the full sermon archive →
