Cosmic Prayer

“Humans themselves are infected by this great disease called evil now. And so the whole earth is teeming with this ugly infestation. And this is what's happened to earth. And yet the good news, my friend, is that the kingdom of God is in your midst. What Jesus said is, when he came, he began the kingdom — "your kingdom come." He began the kingdom. The kingdom is still coming. It's not here yet. It's not completed. But it is building. It is actually in our midst. It's within us. Jesus basically began a little outpost of the heavenly rebellion against the prince of this world, Satan. And I believe each church is a little garrison of God on earth. You are part of a spiritual battle. You are in the middle. And you are helping, and you are working against the forces of evil. You're part of the spiritual battle, helping the Lord bring his kingdom on earth. Why he includes us in it, I'm not exactly sure. But what I do know is that when Jesus left, he said he had to leave so the Holy Spirit could come. And now the Holy Spirit dwells within you, and the kingdom is within. It's in our midst. Christ was the kingdom of God in our midst, and then when he left, he sent the Holy Spirit into us, and now Christ lives in us. And now the kingdom of God is at work. We are doing the work of the kingdom wherever we go. We're trying to fight.”
