Reflecting Perfection Part 2: Honesty-Faithfulness

“Telling the truth is not enough. We need to reflect truth by living it out in our lives. This is what we call faithfulness. It's not just whether or not your words are true. It's your character true. The person who holds our words and our hearts up to light and asks, are we true? Are we true to God? Are we true to ourselves? Are we true to others? Jesus insists that we look into the moral core of our being and become true in the deepest recesses of our hearts. No more self-deception. Jesus didn't just come to teach us out of doctrines or moral philosophy. He wanted us to actually reflect God in our real lives. He wanted to shine his character and reflect off of us so people see Jesus when they see us. Real righteousness, real justice, real love, not a show, not a mask. Jesus calls us to faithfulness to who he is.”
