The Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6-7

“And so when I think of this story, we recognize that we serve a God who detests the values of wickedness of humanity, right, with our flexing of our power, our use of violence to get our way. … When we quit our war against the kingdom of heaven, and once we've established this peace with God through the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ, then we have hope for peace that will be greater, a peace with others. For instance, Jesus brought peace between the original people of God, Israel, who were a special chosen people, his family. He brought them the peace with the Gentiles, with all the tribes and nations. and he's brought them together in a family, a picture, the church is a living picture of the peace that the prince brings. One of the practical implications of all this, I believe, is that although we can't create the perfect peaceful kingdom, we do need to be peacemakers.”
