Col 3_9-10 - Marks of Maturity - Honest

“Jesus himself did not stoop to lying when he couldn't save his own life, and so you have this commitment to truth in Jesus' so absolute, but even the preservation of his whole life is not more valuable than his speaking the truth. … That's when the church that's most powerful, when it will stand for the truth. … Because that is the new life. You put off your own self. You have the new life, and the new life is so striving towards the truth. God is truth. When it says we're renewed in the knowledge of the image of its creator, it's renewed in the truth. Because God is the truth. God is the essence of the truth. The Holy Spirit is what's basically making the truth known to us. As we read and see the world, the Holy Spirit confirms the truth that we encounter.”
