The Church of Laodicea - Revelation 3

“We have intimate connection to God, and that is one of our prizes. And yet, this is just the beginning. This is the tip of the iceberg, for there are further prizes for the spiritual overcomer, and that's what we continue on with. God doesn't just ask why we do these things without indicating what the result will be. He guarantees us quite an amazing prize if we run this race as an overcomer. Verse 21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit on, sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. Is that amazing? The future involves us sitting on the throne with God. Just as Jesus sits on the throne with God, we sit with Jesus on his throne. This indicates the gift of authority, which is something I think we all feel that we're lacking sometimes. Jesus is going to share with us his splendid, exalted glory. We will be lifted up even as Christ is. Christ comes to us as the letters at the opening, as this Amen, as this ruler of God's creation, and here we are told that we will sit with Him, that all this creation, the splendid vast time and space, will be ours to enjoy, perhaps ours to judge. It's mysteries are ours to discover a resurrected spiritual body to roam the imagination of God which is this universe. But that's not all. Since I've insisted at the beginning of this that all the letters pertain to us, not just one, I want to look at some of the other gifts to the prizes to the overcomer that are promised in the letters to the churches.”
